By sea, Anchorage Marina
Port Stephens is only 90 nautical miles north from Sydney Harbour and 78 nautical
miles from Pittwater. If weather deteriorates on your voyage between Sydney
and Port Stephens, and safe shelter is required, Anchorage Marina recommends
that vessels proceed to Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club Marina at the Honeysuckle

By road, Anchorage Marina
at Corlette Point, is just over two hours via the F3 Freeway and only minutes
from the Nelson Bay town centre. Follow the Nelson Bay directional signs, then
pick up the Salamander Bay followed by the Corlette signs to then pick up the
Anchorage Resort and Marina signs.

Marine
Radio and Weather Services
Anchorage Marina Port Stephens, during opening hours, operates a Coastal Station
marine radio service. Vessels can make contact with the Marina on VHF channels
16 and 67 or the 27MHz band on channel 88.
Both the Royal Volunteer
Coastal Patrol and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard organisations operate bases
with marine radio and weather services in Port Stephens and at other key ports
and harbours along the NSW Coast. Vessels requiring information, passage-watch
services (recommended), or assistance can make contact by radioing “Coastal
Patrol (& Port)” or “Coast Guard (& Port)” on VHF
channels 16 and 67, 27MHz channel 88 or on HF band channel 2524.
